C-type lectins are a family of glycoproteins that exhibit amino acid sequence similarities in their carbohydrate recognition domain (CRD) and that bind to selected carbohydrates in a Ca2+ -dependent manner. CLR s recognise carbohydrate profiles on microorganisms.DCs express a range of C-type lectins that either contains a single (type II) CRD or multiple CRDs (type I).
