Alexa-fluor™ dyes are a family of fluorescent dyes with exceptional fluorescence and photostability. Alexa-fluor™ 488 conjugated antibodies are detected in FL1 with any flow cytometer equipped with an argon laser that emits at 488 nm.

Alexa-fluor™546 is for applications that requires fluorescent probes that emit in orange spectrum.

Alexa-fluor™647 has spectral characteristics that can be an alternative Cy5 dyes.The higher fluorescence intensity of Alexa-fluor™647 conjugates has advantages in multi-color flow cytometry studies. and are studied in FL4. They can  be excitted by excitation sources such as HeNe laser line or red diode laser emitting at 633 and 635 respectively.
